The trip I took to Guilin was amazing! One of the most classic routes for tourists is the Li River cruise. It’s such a great way to experience the beauty of the region. The cruise lasted about four hours, and the boat moved slowly, giving us plenty of time to take in the incredible scenery on both sides of the river. As we sailed along, I could see towering karst mountains, lush greenery, and beautiful reflections of everything on the water’s surface. The river was so calm that it looked like a mirror, reflecting the mountains, sky, and clouds, almost like a traditional Chinese ink painting.
One of the highlights of the cruise was how easy it was to take good pictures. You didn’t need to search for the perfect spot; you could just snap photos casually, and they would turn out beautifully because of the stunning landscape all around. The bamboo forests along the riverbanks were particularly striking, and there were moments where the mist would settle around the peaks, making the whole scene feel otherworldly.
At the end of the cruise, we arrived at Yangshuo, a picturesque town famous for its stunning landscapes and the exact spot depicted on the back of the 20 RMB banknote. We got to see the iconic view of the fisherman on his bamboo raft against the backdrop of the dramatic karst mountains, which is considered one of the most beautiful views along the Li River.
Overall, the cruise was one of the most scenic experiences of my trip. Even though it lasted only four hours, I felt like I had been transported into another world, surrounded by the timeless beauty of Guilin’s nature.
